Qualcomm Announces The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2

Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, a new model for those high-medium or medium-high-end devices, depending on how you look at it, with the intention of reducing the price compared to those that use the Snapdragon 8. In addition, this model is much better than the Snapdragon 7 in some aspects . The CPU part now includes a 2.91 GHz Cortex-X2, three 2.49 GHz Cortex-A710 and four 1.8 GHz Cortex-A510. That’s up to 50% performance improvement over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

The GPU is an unidentified Adreno, though the company claims it doubles the graphics performance of the previous model. It also doubles the performance of the Hexagon unit it uses for signal processing and general AI. The GPU can drive integrated displays up to QHD+ at 120Hz, or external displays up to UHD and 60Hz.

The integrated modem is a Snapdragon X62 that gives you 5G in the sub-6 band and in mm-wave, while a FastConnect 6900 gives you Wi-Fi 802.11ax and Bluetooth 5.3. It uses 3200 MHz LPDDR5 memory for 25.6 GB/s bandwidth. The image signal processor is a Spectra that can move cameras up to 200 Mpx. The chip is manufactured at 4 nm by TSMC, and compared to the previous model, a consumption reduction of 13% is promised, even after the large increase in power.
