A few weeks ago when Microsoft announced the launch of its new chat for Bing based on ChatGPT, we already mentioned that it was necessary to join a waiting list to be able to use it. Well, it seems that now it can be accessed “freely” to it.
As indicated from windows central, the waiting list has disappeared, and anyone who wants to use it can now do it directly and easily. Of course, you still need to use the Microsoft Edge browser, but otherwise, you’re free.
Although Microsoft has not confirmed it, the reason behind this “opening of doors” seems to be in the new design of the Edge browser, which now has a Bing button on the side. If we click on it, the Bing chat opens, so it makes a lot of sense that Microsoft wants everyone to be able to use this new browser feature.
How to start using Bing chat “right now”
If you haven’t tried the honeys of the new Bing chat yet, you just need to have a PC with the Edge browser installed. Then enter the bing search engine and sign in with your Microsoft account.
Then, just below the search box, you will see a message encouraging you to use the chat. Click on “More information” and then on “Join the waiting list”. The waiting list seems to be pretty much immediate, so give it a couple of minutes and reload Bing.
To use the chat you can click on the “Chat” button that you will see at the top of the screen.
You can also open the chat from the Bing button that you will see in the upper right area of the browser.
Remember that we recently discovered that the version of the chat that Bing uses is based on GPT-4, which is the most advanced AI model that uses OpenAI, and that the ChatGPT this model is only available under subscription payment. At Bing you can try many of its advantages for free, which is great.
